A Gift of Mobility...The PET Project

Our Mission

The Personal Energy Transportation (PET) Project's mission is to provide appropriate mobility for all of God's children in need.  We seek to provide mobility first for those in greatest need and with the least resources in poor or underdeveloped countries.  The PET Project is a part of the ministry of Jesus Christ, whose disciples said,

“In the name of Jesus Christ, arise and walk.”  Acts 3:6

Through a gift of mobility, this person now has the use of this PET, a hand-cranked wheelchair. Many people have lost the use oftheir legs due to polio, landmine injury, etc.

The PET Project is a growing ministry to deliver mobility solutions to the "least of these."

“I tell everyone that distributing PETS was the single
most rewarding thing that I did as a missionary in Sierra Leone--to see an individual drag him/herself into my compound and ride out with dignity on a PET--Priceless!!! Beth Ferrell January 2009”

Beth Ferrell is a Mission Interpreter in Residence in the North Central Jurisdiction. She travels from Ohio to the Dakotas in 12 UMC Conferences telling about the worldwide mission outreach of the United Methodist Church and PET.
