Our Mission
The Personal Energy Transportation (PET) Project's mission is to provide appropriate mobility for all of God's children in need. We seek to provide mobility first for those in greatest need and with the least resources in poor or underdeveloped countries. The PET Project is a part of the ministry of Jesus Christ, whose disciples said, “In the name of Jesus Christ, arise and walk.” Acts 3:6
The Tragic Need
Many around the world are victims of things that we do not even think of in the US like leprosy, polio, wars, land mines, etc. Land mines kill or maim one person every twenty minutes. Then there are other causes we can relate to here such as birth defects and diseases.
What is a PET?
The PET is built for rough, rural areas for the leg handicapped. They are propelled by the recipients’ upper body with a chain drive system like a bike. In addition we now have a PULL PET model being tested in the field for those who do not have upper body power/coordination. They are sturdily made of steel and wood in adult and child sizes with solid, rubber wheelbarrow tires. They have been distributed in over 60 countries by partner organizations. We are ecumenical. Volunteers make PET specific parts, assemble, coordinate supplies, and box for shipment.
We’d appreciate your help to provide mobility to those most in need around the world. Could you please help more persons like these who received PETs? (Uzbekistan, Zambia and Honduras are examples below.)
